ABOUT

The young people are central to everything that SOTO is. We use inclusive arts as our access point to engage, educate and empower.

Our tutors operate at a guaranteed high level, using their skill set to engage and captivate young people.

Soto was founded in 2012. The dream began with an aim to provide accessible, high quality sessions to schools, local authorities and the local communities in London for children, young people and vulnerable young people and adults.

SOTO began it’s journey as a community arts organisation, focused on the support and development of young people within performing arts. We use inclusive arts as our access point to engage and captivate young people from all cultural, emotional and socio-economic backgrounds.

Coming from a youth work background the SOTO team strive to deliver open-access sessions that are ‘Something Out The Ordinary’. Using our access point as a device to build confidence, gain social skills, promote physical health and raise aspirations.

Soto sessions are lead with an emphasis on emotionally connected, vibrant, engaging, current and captivating delivery with tutors that have a vested interest in the young people they deliver to.

We are proud of the growth that we have experienced and accredit this to the perceived value and quality in what we deliver to the schools and communities we work with. The resulting confidence has enabled us to create more specialised classes, and now venture into the world of wraparound care and multi activity holiday camps with a specific emphasis on a positive play environment that is both nurturing and fun. Whilst we continue to encourage cooporation, teamwork and the nurture and development of young people’s relationships with peers and others.

All staff are DBS Checked and have relevant qualifications.

“Consciousness expresses itself through creation. This world we live in is the dance of the creator. Dancers come and go in the twinkling of an eye but the dance lives on. On many an occasion when I am dancing, I have felt touched by something sacred. In those moments, I felt my spirit soar and become one with everything that exists.”
